“Has Your Worship Become Impersonal?”

Romans 15:10-11

Again, it says, "Rejoice, O Gentiles, with his people." And again, "Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles, and sing praises to him, all you peoples."

Thoughts for Today:

Jesus did not come just to the Jews, but to the Gentiles as well. That's you and me. So when we stand together and sing, "Forever God is faithful. Forever God is strong. Forever God is with us. Forever." Guess who's there with us, joining in the chorus? Jesus is not to be just the object of our praise -- He is also in our midst -- participating right along with us.

All too often this concept is lost on us. If we are not careful, church services can sacrifice intimacy for organization and harmony. If too much importance is placed on form and structure, then it's easy to lose sight of the goal -- which is our individual and collective, worship and praise of our Lord and Savior. Jesus desires a relationship with us, not an impersonal worship service.

Questions to Ponder:

Matthew 18:20: "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." Where is Jesus on Sunday morning in your church? Is He still on the Cross, or Risen and in your midst?
